February 2016 Newsletter

Financials: Monthly Revenue Required: $ 7,100.00 and Monthly Revenue Received: $5,739.00   Remaining Need:( +carryover need from previous months of $9,084.00) $10,445 .00

Current Ministry/ Ranch Projects 1.) We are growing again. We have a new counselor/coach joining us. Tanya Maruschak is part of the team and is excited to take your referrals. Read more about her in this newsletter. Call, text or email for details. 2.) We are so excited to offer three women’s groups. “Partners-Healing from his Addiction”, “Codependent No More”, and “Gifts of Imperfection”. All three of these groups offer a way to grow in your individual faith, and connect with other women to be challenged and find healing. The fliers came out earlier this month, you can check out the Mountain Haven Facebook page where they were posted. I believe you will really love being part of a community. All of the groups start the first week in March pending enough participants.

Something Interesting or Unexpected that Happened Last Month: 1.) Chris and the girls got in a car accident and totaled their car, (don’t worry, everyone was ok), so we unexpectedly had to find a different vehicle to replace it. We got a great deal on a used car that works perfect on the mountainous terrain

Top Prayer Requests 1.) As we continue to expand, we need wisdom for continued direction, we need provision as we get bigger and have more needs, and we need unity as our team gets larger. 2.) Pray that parents, youth workers and those working with the population of teens that are “cutting” would be equipped. Chris will be doing a training presentation on February 29th and there is a need in this community for wisdom in this area. 3.) Pray against weariness and busyness, these seem to distract couples from connection and transformation.

Welcoming a New Team Member

I recently had a friend tell me that the most helpful things in her life were “Jesus and therapy”. It made me laugh. Jesus was the ultimate therapist. He spoke truth, He rightly divided by helping people explore their hearts motives versus their actions, and most importantly He loved unconditionally and unequivocally, and offered hope. Just a reminder for all of you reading this, Mountain Haven exists to impart hope to individuals, families and couples. There is so much brokenness in this world. Our call for the last 8 years has been to walk into the brokenness armed with those three behaviors that remind people of Jesus and draw them to Him in a deeper, life altering way. In that vein we offer groups, pre-marriage counseling, intensives, training, books, adventure weekends, individual, family and marriage counseling, coaching and support. We recently brought on a new psychotherapist that has been taking many individual clients and running one of our groups, Jocelyn is a model of unconditional love and insight. Her practice has really taken off and she is imparting hope weekly. She is a priceless addition to the team.

We are excited once again to bring on another member of the team; Tanya Marushack. She is wise, forthright and able to really pinpoint with empathetic understanding the root causes of many issues. We love to meet people that share a heart for ministry and understand the idea of being a “donate what you can” ministry. We strive to pay these new team members a fair and liveable wage that demonstrates their worth, so we have stepped out again to expand. We have the faith to ask God to provide resources and clients for both of our new team members. If you, or anyone you know, needs counseling or coaching, please consider contacting Tanya. Kevin and I are being freed up to really focus on the couples aspect of this ministry; as well as focus on training, vision and expansion. What a great opportunity for Mountain Haven. Take a moment and read Tanya’s biography below.Contact her for your next appointment.

My name is Tanya Marushack. I’ve been married to my husband Kevin for twenty years as of September 16th. We have two awesome kids- Emma 19 and Ben 15. Emma is attending cosmetology school at the Toni & Guy Academy in Colorado Springs. Ben is a freshman in high school and keeps us busy with all his sport activities he is involved in. I grew up in a ranching community in northeast Wyoming and in a custom saddle shop. I love being outside, supporting my kids and being creative.

My number one job is being a wife and mother. I was blessed to stay home with our children when they were young. I have always had a heart for children. I am currently working at the Boys & Girls Club of Fremont County as the Mentor Program Director. I work with youth in 6th -12th grades. What has inspired me to begin this life coaching journey with Mountain Haven Marriage Ministry was a combination of my love for teens and to continue to be an outlet for them and others as they travel through life.

I have a passion for listening and helping others. I have been broken and have had my own struggles along my journey as well. I have struggled with anxiety, depression, co-dependency, self-worth and much more.

I will be offering a Codependent No More group starting March 2nd from 5:00-6:30 pm running 10 weeks ( have not started yet so please contact me for information). The total cost for the group will be $150 broken down to $15 per week. If you or someone you know struggles with: controlling behaviors, being easily controlled, an inability to have boundaries or advocate for themselves this would be a great group to be a part of. This group is also great for anyone who lives with, or is in relationship with, an addict.

I am also offering individual coaching on Fridays from 8:00-4:00. You can contact me at 1-719- 429-6197 or tanyamarushack@gmail.com for scheduling or questions.

I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for this walk and the opportunity to work with Chris and Kevin in their awesome ministry.

Looking forward to meeting you,

Tanya Marushack
